They Came, They Saw
The four phased story that continues
My ancestors didn’t fail me/ us. They were ambushed, a war that started with greetings and ended in violence.
They sent their explorers, to come and spy the land just as Caleb and Joshua did in the good book. They came and saw and wrote it down, we were so friendly to our guest that we even took them around as normal as that is to our nature. He saw the golds, the ores and wrote it down, he’s heart thumping with an emotion we mistook for wonderment, he loved everything minus us, didn’t mind the conditions that our lands imposed on him, we thought him the mad man, he came, he saw, he wrote, he went. Betrayed by the illusion of hospitality
They then sent the good word, i imagine, always smiling, always friendly and willing to lend a hand. He came and taught a different queer song. Love your enemies, when struck on the right cheek give the left, wealth of this earth is bad because we have a treasure store in heaven, no more pain, no more suffering. He didn’t preach love, he prepared the mind for submission. He knew about the wealth of Solomon and wanted that for himself while teaching you the suffering of Paul
Give the other cheek, the Word changed. When the barrel of the gun was pressed on the side of your head. wealth of this world is bad, don’t be afraid of the one who kills the flesh, be more afraid of the one who kills the spirit. Servant respect and love your master, do not kill, love him. He gave you selections of what fed their fancy, squeezed the milk of your land, told you to worship and Infinite creator with only one way to go to him. “Son, the answers you’ll find in heaven” when you question and ask what happened to the ones who didn’t know him before they came. Change your names and work for us on your land.
They came, they saw, they took. They say love keeps no record of wrong.
Mapped lands. Measured the land, conquered the spirit, took the self.
Explorers, Missionaries, Machineries and markets
what remains?
Us, now
If something happens once, be sure it will never happen again, but if it happens again be sure it will continue happening. We’ve seen, we’ve learnt but some amongst us still don’t see, don’t mind what’s happening, still licking and being feed from leftovers. What can we do?
